REPORT: Maronite bishops express concern over deputies’ remarks on presidential vacuum
The Maronite Bishops reiterated their solidarity with the Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai in his call for electing a new president who will be capable of meeting the needs of the Lebanese citizens, stressing that the presidential elections must be held in accordance with the constitution.

In a statement issued following their monthly meeting, the bishops expressed concern over the deputies’ statements regarding vacuum, noting that these remarks are a sign of political failure.

On another note, the bishops welcomed the results of the security plan implemented in the northern city of Tripoli, to which stability has returned, lauding the cooperation of the residents of the Bekaa's Hermel and Baalbek with the security forces in their efforts to restore security to the region.
