After forcing rebels out of Homs, Syria’s third-largest city, regime units are now refocusing on the strategically important southern front, near the border with Jordan and Israel.
In this regard, rebels said that attacks that started Friday on the towns of Nawa, Inkhil, Jasem and Deraa city, where the revolt began peacefully in March 2011, are among the heaviest since the beginning of the crisis.
In the same context, a rebel officer said that regime forces are trying to take Tal Al Jabiyeh and Nawa towns, but rebel forces have thwarted the attacks and destroyed several tanks.
