REPORT: Minister Harb announces reduction in phone tariffs

Telecommunication Minister Boutros Harb held on Friday a press conference during which he voiced hopes that Lebanon would soon rank amongst advanced countries in the field of telecommunications.

He also announced that the Lebanese people can now obtain fixed telephone lines without having to pay an initial fee, adding that the monthly subscription was also decreased to 9000 LBP as opposed to 12000 LBP.

Harb asserted that he will deploy all possible efforts in order to improve the quality of telecommunication services in Lebanon.

He also stressed that the Lebanese economy cannot grow without the telecommunication sector which ensures job opportunities for the Lebanese people.
