REPORT: Presidential Palace’s Chief of Protocol, Ambassador Maroun Haimari passes away
Chief of Protocol and presidential political affairs adviser, Ambassador Maroun Haimari passed away Monday of a heart attack at the age of 81.

Haimari, who hailed from the Metn town of Bekfaya, held a dual Lebanon-Chadian nationality and worked at the Presidential Palace as Chief of Protocol from 1984 until 2011.

Before working at the Presidential Palace, Haimari took over several diplomatic duties and was appointed as Chad's ambassador to Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Turkey, while based in Beirut between 1968 and 1972.
