REPORT: UCC to Minister Bou Saab: No official exams without pay scale
The Union Coordinating Committee stressed Sunday that it has never threatened anyone, noting that the official exams are a red line and must not be subject to manipulation.

During a press conference, the UCC warned Education Minister Elias Bou Saab against holding the exams without the teachers, reiterating that the exams will not be held, should the series of ranks and salaries fail to be passed by the Parliament.

For his part, head of the Private Schools Teachers Association Nehme Mahfoud said that the UCC’s stance will remain unchanged in this regard.

In turn, member of the UCC Hanna Gharib pointed out that some parties seek to abolish the official criteria of the official exams and outsource them to a private company.

“This matter has surpassed the issue of the pay scale and relates now to the issue of building a united decent state,” he said.
