REPORT: Domestic workers in Lebanon lack adequate access to justice

Lebanon hosts at least 200,000 domestic workers, 99% of whom are female workers who are often subject to exploitation and forced labor, while few manage to resort to the judicial authorities.

In this regard, a joint study conducted by the International Labor Organization (ILO) in cooperation with the Lebanese branch of the non-governmental organization Caritas, launched from Beirut, shed light on the wide-ranging legal, procedural and institutional barriers to justice for migrant domestic workers in Lebanon.
