REPORT: Akkar's Halba marks first anniversary of Roula Yaacoub's death

A holy mass was held on Sunday at Saint Bassil Church in Akkar's Halba in commemoration of the first anniversary of Roula Yaacoub's death.

Following the mass, the victim's mother vowed to reveal the circumstances behind the crime, adding that she will follow up on the issue "until the end."

On July 7th, a 33-year-old Lebanese woman Roula Yaacoub was beaten to death by her husband..

Neighbors told LBCI they heard Roula - the mother of five daughters - screaming and they tried interfering to stop a fight that was developing between the couple, but the husband refused.

Later on, the man rushed out to seek help after Roula went unconscious.

Roula was rushed to the hospital. She died shortly after that.
