REPORT: Syrian army orders residents of Tfeil to evacuate village
Residents of Tfeil said on Saturday that the Syrian army ordered residents to evacuate within 48 hours before shells hit the border village.

Residents received phone calls from the Syrian army who told them  they have until Sunday to evacuate the village.

Media reports stated that the Syrian army was preparing to raid the village in search of armed men.

Earlier this summer, dozens of families fled Tfeil due to the heavy shelling launched by the Syrian army.

Tfeil is located east of Brital, and surrounded on three sides by Syria.

The predominantly Sunnite village hosts some 3,000 Lebanese residents and 5,000 Syrian refugees who have settled there in recent months.

Residents in the village urged the government to deploy Lebanese army into Tfeil to protect them.
