REPORT: Protestors block roads, denounce proposed extension of parliament's term

Dozens of protesters waving Lebanese flags and holding signs describing Lebanese lawmakers as "thieves" gathered on Wednesday near Martyrs Square in downtown Beirut to denounce the proposed extension of the parliament's mandate.

The protest was the latest of demonstrations organized by activist group, the Civil Movement for Accountability against the extension.

Security apparatuses and the protestors scuffled after they tried to prevent one lawmaker from reaching parliament.

The protestors also erected a tent near An-Nahar newspaper building and blocked the roads leading to the parliament.
