REPORT: MP Hamadeh testifies for the second day before Special Tribunal for Lebanon
Deputy Marwan Hamadeh continued to testify on Tuesday before the Special Tribunal for Lebanon about the Syrian influence on Lebanon and the delay in implementing certain articles of the Taef Accord.

During the hearing session, MP Hamadeh stated that former Prime Minister Rafic Hariri did not adhere to pressures exerted by the Syrian regime.

“Hariri was threatened various times on the backdrop of his political views and reputation. Lebanese institutions were systematically disrupted during the Syrian guardianship,” MP Hamadeh said.

Hamadeh also noted that the late Prime Minister received various threat messages in the year 2003.

The Special Tribunal for Lebanon was set up by the United Nations at the Lebanese government's request to try the alleged perpetrators of the 2005 bombing in which former Lebanese PM Hariri and 21 others were killed.
