REPORT: Speaker Berri to call for extraordinary parliament session
House Speaker Nabih Berri stated that he will call for an extraordinary session for the parliament to ratify various prominent laws including those pertaining to food safety.

Berri told deputies during the Wednesday periodic meeting that Israel committed a strategic error, stressing that the crime in Syria’s Quneitra placed Israel in a direct confrontation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He also noted that the said crime will not have negative impacts on the course of dialogue between Hezbollah and the Future Movement, emphasizing that negotiations between the two parties are fruitful and have successfully eased sectarian tension in Lebanon.

On another note, Speaker Berri stressed that the security plan in Bekaa will be decisive and effective in a bid to maintain the security situation in all Lebanese regions.
