REPORT: Karantina fish market not yet closed despite Beirut governor’s decision

The Karantina fish market has not yet been closed, despite the decision issued by Beirut Governor Ziad Shbeib on Thursday in this regard.

In this context, the merchants are requesting more time to implement the decision, in order to be able to conduct the needed renovations.

On Thursday, Beirut Governor Ziad Shbeib declared the closure of Karantina’s fish market for failing to respect the terms of food safety, noting that the benches with fish on display do not conform to food safety standards.
