REPORT: Bassil from Zahle: We must resort to democratic rules to elect a new president

The latest developments in Syria featured high during Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil’s visit to the district of Zahle, where he said that “the most dangerous thing in Syria is neither the regime, nor the leaders, but the people’s ability to coexist under the concept of a civil nation, rather than dividing into several factions and fight with each other.”

During his visit to the towns of Niha, Forzol and Ablah, Bassil asked: “why do we have to wait for a foreign intervention to elect a new president, while we can abide by the democratic rules to rule ourselves?”
