REPORT: Minister Rifi: Part of abducted soldiers’ case might come to an end soon

Justice Minister Ashraf Rifi stressed Saturday the importance of the efforts exerted in the case of the abducted soldiers, noting that part of this issue might come to an end soon.

Following his meeting with a delegation from the families of the Lebanese hostages at the Justice Ministry, Rifi pointed out that he discussed with the head of the Syrian National Coalition in Turkey, ways to help resolve this issue.

For their part, the families said that they will not escalate as long as the state is deploying efforts in this regard.

The families of the abducted troops have been staging sit-ins in across Lebanon to exert pressure on politicians to hasten the negotiations to release the hostages kidnapped by militants from the Islamic State and the al-Nusra Front in the border town of Arsal.
