REPORT: One killed, another injured after car fails to stop at checkpoint in Tripoli’s Mina

The state-run National News Agency reported on Saturday that one person was killed and another injured when a vehicle failed to stop at an Internal Security Forces checkpoint in the northern city of Tripoli.

The agency added that a gray Mercedes with four young men on board did not halt at a mobile security forces checkpoint in Mina, leading the forces to open fire at the car.

The incident left one man dead identified as A.S. and another injured identified as R.H.

Investigations into the incident were launched.

Residents of Mina who were angered by the shooting have since gathered in the area to protest the incident.
