Antonio al-Hashem, backed by the Free Patriotic Movement and March 8 forces, was elected on Sunday as President of the Beirut Bar Association.
Earlier in the day, four new council members were also elected, Antonio al-Hashem (2646 votes), backed by the free Patriotic Movement and March 8 forces, Pierre Hanna (2328 votes) backed by March 14 and Progressive Socialist Party, Azhar Azouri (2034 votes) backed by March 8 forces, and Jamil Qobeires (1891 votes) backed by March 14 and Progressive Socialist Party.
