The National ID (or unified identification number) is a law passed in 2012, to be adopted for every citizen at all public administrations and institutions as well as municipalities.
On February 17, 2017, a decree was issued to determine the rules and procedures to start adopting this ID.
The new ID is supposed to include all the information of the citizen required for completing documents or transactions at public administrations and institutions.
