Speaker Nabih Berri asserted on Friday that work will continue until the release of disappeared Imam Moussa Sadr and his companions from their unknown place of detention.
 
Berri’s comments were made during a speech to mark the 40th anniversary of Sadr’s disappearance whereby called for granting this issue all the attention.
 
On another note, Berri reiterated confidence in the Lebanese army and the security apparatuses in preserving the security in the Bekaa region.
 
“The region needs a developmental plan and a law that legalizes medical cannabis for health purposes,” he added.
 
“On behalf of the AMAL Movement and Hezbollah, I declare lifting the cover off every perpetrator, offender, abuser or drug dealer and on behalf of our two parliamentary blocs I call for issuing a premeditated general amnesty that excludes homicides and attacks on security and defense forces.
 
As for the Cabinet formation, Berri stressed that Lebanon’s Cabinet must represent all Lebanese forces and its decisions must be independent and based on the national unity.
 
He also voiced that President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri would overcome obstacles hindering the formation during their next meeting.
