Bicycles sweep Beirut waterfront
A year has passed over the National Campaign for sustainable transport and Lebanon still lacks a common public transport that meets with the need of all Lebanese people.

For this reason, an event during which only bicycles were used was held to emphasize that there are various methods to improve the transport sector.

More than 300 participants moved on bicycles from Beirut waterfront to Mar Mkhael station and carried banners demanding clean air, sustainable transport, and trains.

Participants also called for replacing cars by bicycles.

Within this framework, Ryan Mkarem, a member in Greenpeace mentioned that the main goal is seeking a sustainable transport law that includes modern roads, buses, trains, bicycles, in addition to alternative means of transport.
