REPORT: More than 1700 Lebanese women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year

After the October Campaign succeeded in helping many Lebanese women diagnose breast cancer at an early stage, it was once again launched this year.

Gynecologist Faysal El Kak told LBCI that there are several reasons behind breast cancer, stressing that around 1750 Lebanese women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year.

The doctor added that 95% of these women are healed when the cancer is diagnosed at an early stage.

Mirna, a woman who got breast cancer, never stopped smiling. She was very calm when she received the news and she did not stress about it.

Mirna told LBCI that the treatment phase was long and hard. She lost her hair and she was constantly pale, however she emphasized that her strong will and her lover for live helped get through the phase and she’s finally healed.
