REPORT: March14 forces decisions and their impacts on the electoral law

March14 forces are expected to take a decision in the coming 24 hours whether to boycott the work of the parliament and its committees or to simply boycott the government.

Thereby, this decision reflects on the work of the sub-parliamentary committee which is currently studying the electoral law.

Within this framework, Chief of the sub-parliamentary committee Deputy Farid Mekari said that if the committee is not meeting to discuss the electoral law, "this doesn’t mean that we agree on the 1960’s electoral law."

Mekari said to LBCI that it is difficult to pre-plan the committee’s meeting especially after the assassination of Major General Wissam al-Hassan.

“Our major concern is the continuity of the wave of assassinations,” he concluded.
