REPORT: Fidaa Itani’s blog, a deeper look into the daily life of Syrian rebels

Following his experience as a war correspondent in Lebanon, Iraq and Libya, Lebanese journalist Fidaa Itani took an arduous path towards Syria's rebels, living with them, witnessing the daily details of their battle and entering hot spots alongside the militants.

What brought Itani to the spotlight is the fact that he managed to reach Abu Ibrahim and record a tape on one of the 9 Lebanese abductees in Syria.

However, all the important press information on Fidaa’s tour results are archived on his Word Press blog entitled “Undisciplined Press”.

On his blog, Fidaa posted articles and pictures portraying the reality of the conditions of the Syrian rebels and fighters.

Upon his return from Aleppo Reef, he posted a field analysis of the fights and the “inadequate and invaluable weapons” rebels use in the face of war planes.

Itani also addressed the difference between the armament of rebels and the support some groups benefit from at the expense of others. Itani mentioned some of the conversations that took place between rebels about the depth of the revolution, the sectarian conflict sweeping through the country and the role of the Syrian regime in deepening the confessional schism.

In his writings, Itani made remarks on the practices and military performance of the rebels. He promises to come back to finish what he started "on the revolution and for the revolution".
