REPORT: Latest updates in counterfeit medicines' case

Almost two weeks have passed after the scandal of the counterfeit medicines and the forged signature of the Health Minister to sell these medications.

The two top suspects in this case are Mahmoud Fneish and Fouad Wehbe who, and according to circulating information, have left the country.

However, it is still uncertain if these dangerous medications are still in the markets.

The Pharmacists Syndicate said that it is closely following this issue, hoping the judiciary will succeed in its mission to reassure the terrified citizens.

In this context, the president of the syndicate Rabih Hassouna told LBCI that the ministry of Health has withdrew the counterfeit medicines from the pharmacies and hospitals, revealing that they will be exported.

Hassouna added that the syndicate does not have executive powers, however, its mission relies in controlling the sold medicines.
