Introduction to the evening news 28-11-2012

The first appointment on 2013’s agenda is the 7th of January when the dialogue session will be held at Baabda Palace. This date was initially scheduled for tomorrow, but was postponed due to March 14’s decision to boycott. If the dialogue session is expected to discuss the government’s situation, does it mean that this issue will be put on hold for the rest of the year?                 

While the cabinet’s file was postponed until next year, the pay scale issue was also postponed but until next month, as the cabinet decided to hold a special session only for this file on the 10th of December. This decision came after two days of strike staged by the Syndicate Coordination Committee, raising the following question: what position did the Coordination Committee take regarding this rescheduling?              

In Syria, another deadly day leaving at least fifty dead was marked by a significant development when the Syrian rebels downed a military aircraft in Reef Aleppo.               

In Egypt, the debates continue between the presidency and the judiciary, as cassation and appeals courts suspended their work pending a ruling on the constitutionality of President Mohamed Mursi's decree granting him immunity from judicial review.
