The Lebanese Parliament failed for the eighth time to elect a president of the republic.

However, Michel Moawad received 37 votes, but he could have received 42 votes if MPs Nadim Gemayel, Ziad Hawat, Nehme Afram, Ihab Matar and Michel al-Daher attended the session.
