REPORT: Ahead of elections, Israeli voters swing to right
 
Ahead of Israel's Jan. 22 parliamentary election, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is promoting fear among the Israeli people to urge them to vote for him and his party Yisrael Beitenu.  

According to Netanyahu, voting for him means standing against the forces who are trying to destroy the Israeli state.  

"Our enemies must know that the Jewish people cannot be exiled from Israel. We intend to stay in the Jewish state forever," Netanyahu stated.  

This as, the Yisrael Beitenu party praised the Israeli war on Lebanon and Hezbollah as the opposition leader Shaul Mofaz who was criticized by Netanyahu for calling for peace with the Palestinians, expressed pride for giving orders to assassinate Hamas leader Sheikh Ahmad Yassin and for personally killing 2 Palestinian officials.  

For their part, moderated parties are focusing on the economic situation and social issues while polls proved that the right-wing bloc will likely win the elections.
