REPORT: Trade sector affected by unstable situation in Lebanon

2012 figures showed that the Trade sector shrank by 12% while the exports shrank by 11%.

In an interview with LBCI, President of Beirut Traders Association Nicolas Chammas said that the Trade sector revenues shrank during 2012, stressing that the main reason behind this recession is the lack of money spending in Lebanon by Arab tourists.

Chammas added that the Lebanese traders are facing very difficult financial difficulties, warning of the repercussions that could occur if the problem is not solved.
