REPORT: Mikati, Sleiman debate civil marriage on Twitter

The Lebanese civil marriage has become a debatable issue on Twitter between the Lebanese President Michel Sleiman and Prime Minister Najib Mikati.

In this context, President Sleiman insists on proving himself as the first supporter to civil marriage via  his tweets  which state that "others are opposing its legislation," stressing that this will not alter his convictions.

For his part, PM Mikati said that the current Lebanese situation is not suitable for debatable and controversial issues and stressed that the civil marriage law must be agreed upon by all national components.
