REPORT: Electronic media to be included in the new media draft law

The Parliament's Media and Communications Committee has made its final touches on the new media draft law as a prelude to send to the General Authority.

The new media law includes for the first time articles related to electronic media in addition to including media materials for all sectors.

For his part the Head of the Media and Communications Committee MP Ali Fayyad said that "media is not restricted, but it is not absolutely free".

In turn, the Head of Lebanon's Audiovisual Media Council Abdel-Hadi Mahfouz said that the new media law calls for establishing a media court.
