REPORT: Businessman Najib Youssef released for a ransom of $ US 120 Thousand

After releasing him on Sunday night and handing him over to the ISF intelligence bureau in Beirut, the businessman Najib Youssef arrived at his residence in Tyre.               

On the 5th of February, unidentified persons kidnapped the Lebanese businessman Najib Youssef while he was heading to his house in Burj al-Chamali in Tyre at 3 pm.                          

In the details, a car intercepted him and gunmen took him to an unidentified location, leaving his car at the scene of the crime.                        

At 10 pm, abductors called his son demanding a ransom of 3 Million US dollars in exchange for his release.                          

According to security sources, Youssef was released in exchange of a sum of $ US 120 Thousand.                             

The sources added that the amount of money was left on the airport road upon the request of the abductors who released Najib Youssef in the Choueifat area after receiving the ransom.         

The sources told LBCI that a unit of the ISF intelligence bureau followed the kidnappers and managed to locate the businessman in Choueifat. They then pursued the abductors who fled to a "security-sensitive area".         

It is worth noting that the ISF identified the names of the kidnappers and seized the car they had been using.
