REPORT: UCC demonstrates in front the Ogero Committee

The Union Coordinating Committee staged a sit-in on Monday in front the Ogero Committee in Bir Hassan to call for the referral of the series of ranks and salaries to the parliament without any amendments.         

In this context, Head of the Secondary Teachers Union Hanna Ghabrib called on parents, students, and teachers to participate in tomorrow’s protest which will be held in front the Ministry of Education.                

Gharib added that the UCC is preparing for a protest that coincides with the cabinet’s session to refer the pay scale to the parliament on the 21st of March.
                       
Gharib called for funding the pay scale on the expense of the rich and stressed that official exams will not be held before completing the entire educational curricula for students.                      

It is worth noting that various teachers, employees from the public sector, students, and employees from the Ogero Committee participated in the demonstration.             

This as, a number of demonstrators cut-off the road across the Ogero Committee for almost 10 minutes.
        
The Union Coordinating Committee launched its open ended strike on February 19th 2013 after making repeated called on Prime Minister Mikati to validate the new salary scale and consequently refer it to Parliament for ratification.
