Neglected Boy Goes Blind In Fly-Infested Home, Writes ‘Help Me’ On Wall
A 12-year-old boy who went blind after being neglected by both of his parents scrawled 'Help me' on his house wall, a leaked council report has revealed.

The boy, alongside his two-year-old sister, was kept in a stinking, filthy and fly-infested house, and ended up losing sight in his left eye from cataracts.

Now the recently published report has revealed that the youngster, from Thornaby, Teesside, in England was rescued in August 2013 after being subjected to neglect since 2007.

Parents Gillian Hendry and Craig Dick were imprisoned for a period of two-and-a-half years as well as two years and two months respectively last month after they pleaded guilty to two charges of child neglect.

The 'help me' call on the wall, written outside his filthy bedroom, was found by a social worker in June this year, 10 months after the boy was removed from the family residence.

When asked about the boy’s plea, Miss Hendry claimed her son daubed it after a social worker had visited in the summer of 2013 since 'he wanted help to tidy his room.'
