Tripoli's meeting sets a security road map for the city-sources

Sources revealed to Al-Hayat newspaper on Sunday details about the meeting held at the residence of caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati in Tripoli with Tripoli's ministers and MPS along with caretaker Minister of Interior Marwan Charbel and several chiefs of Lebanese security apparatuses.

Sources noted that the officials set a road map to activate the measures that are required to protect the civil peace in Tripoli and to spare the city further explosions.

Sources added that calls for self-imposed security in the city were slammed by Tripoli's ministers and MPs during the meeting.

According to the Daily, caretaker Minister of Interior Marwan Charbel pledged the Lebanese state to provide the security apparatuses with up-to-date equipments" to enable them to carry out the necessary investigations.

MP Fatfat: Terrorist groups will launch attacks against several Lebanese regions

Future MP Ahmad Fatfat told Al-Seyassah newspaper on Sunday that "some criminal parties" are adamant on fomenting sectarian strife across Lebanon.

MP Fatfat slammed the statements issued by Lebanese leaders, saying that they stir up tensions in the country.

According to the Daily, MP Fatfat revealed that terrorist groups will hit several Lebanese regions.

MP Kanaan says Lebanese people must unite against sectarian strife

Change and Reform bloc MP Ibrahim Kanaan told An-Nahar newspaper on Sunday that Lebanon is being targeted amid the ongoing crisis in the region.

MP Kanaan called on Lebanese people to unite against the sectarian strife, adding that Lebanese leaders must stop their mutual political accusations.

As for the file of Syrian refugees in Lebanon, he told the Daily that Lebanon is unable to bear the economic and social burdens of the influx of Syrian refugees into the country.

Arab Democratic Party leader Refaat Eid : Perpetrators of Roueis and Tripoli's explosions are the same

Secretary General of the Arab Democratic Party leader Refaat Ali Eid told Al-Anbaa newspaper on Sunday that Tripoli's explosions targeted all factions of the Lebanese people.

He also added that the perpetrators of the Roueis explosion in the Dahieh region and Friday's explosions in Tripoli are the same.

Eid called on the Lebanese people to unite against the strife, urging Hezbollah Chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and MP Saad Hariri to form a new government as soon as possible to address Lebanon's upcoming challenges.
