Investigations in assassination of former Min Chatah ongoing, important information revealed-sources

Well-informed sources told An-Nahar newspaper on Sunday that the investigations in the assassination of former Minister of Finance Mohmmad Chatah are ongoing.

The Lebanese daily said the investigations are focusing on the car that was used in the explosion to determine whether it was taken outside the Palestinian refugee camp of Ain el-Helwe in the southern city of Sidon after being stolen in 2012.

The sources also said that "the information gathered so far are extremely important".

Sources told Asharq al-Awsat newspaper on Sunday that Prime Minister-designate Tammam Salam held an urgent meeting with President Michel Sleiman to tackle the formation of the new government as soon as possible, to deal with the Lebanese people's daily issues and the security situation in the country.
