Sources told Acharq al-Awsat newspaper on Sunday that the security meeting held at the Grand Serail discussed ways to spend the Saudi grant according to the needs of the security apparatuses.

The same sources added that the security apparatuses started to prepare the lists of their needs in order to be submitted to Prime Minister Tammam Salam and the concerned ministers.

According to the daily, the legal mechanisms of the grant will be tackled during the next cabinet session.


Sources told al-Hayat newspaper on Sunday that the Muslim Scholars Committee is still deploying efforts to ensure the release of the abducted soldiers in Arsal.

The same sources added that the Committee tasked a Syrian Muslim cleric to hold talks with the al-Nusra Front and the armed groups deployed in the border town.


Military sources told an-Nahar newspaper on Sunday that the Lebanese Armed Forces intensified their security measures after Arsal's clashes.

The same sources added that the measures are being taken near the Syrian refugee camps across Lebanon.

According to the daily, the measures are  "preventive" and aim at arresting any suspects plotting to carry out terrorist attacks.
