PM Tammam Salam will pay a visit to Doha, UAE-sources

Ministerial sources told al-Joumhouria newspaper on Thursday that Prime Minister Tammam Salam will pay a visit to Qatar and the United Arab Emirates to meet with top officials.

The same sources added that General Security Chief Abbas Ibrahim may visit Turkey in order to follow up on the file of the kidnapped Lebanese soldiers in the border town of Arsal.

According to the daily, the sources noted that Ibrahim will also accompany Salam to Qatar to hold talks with security officials.

MP Fatfat urges government to agree on prisoner swap deal

MP Ahmad Fatfat told al-Anbaa newspaper on Thursday that the developments in the border town of Arsal are the result of the battles taking place in the war torn Syria.

Fatfat added that the Future bloc will deploy its utmost efforts to release the kidnapped soldiers, urging the Lebanese government to agree on the prisoner swap deal.

Minister Bassil says Jeddah's talks will help Lebanon in its battle against terrorism

Minister of Foreign Affairs Gebran Bassil told As-Safir newspaper on Thursday that Lebanon must partake in every regional and International effort aiming to address terrorism.

Bassil added that Lebanon's participation in Jeddah's talks will help the country in its battle against the threats imposed by Takfiri groups.

Bassil concluded by saying that Lebanon's participation in the Jeddah talks is unanimously approved by all Lebanese leaders, ruling out any disagreement in this regard.

MP Khreis says state institutions must not remain paralyzed

MP Ali Khreis told al-Mustaqbal newspaper on Thursday that the latest developments in the country are "dangerous."

MP Khreis also noted that Speaker Nabih Berri is following up on pending issues, adding that he will attempt to reactivate the parliament.

MP Khreis concluded by saying that state institutions must not remain paralyzed, mainly amid the ongoing presidential vacuum and the growing regional crisis.
