Security sources told al-Akhbar newspaper on Saturday that armed men affiliated to the Islamic State threatened to kill Sheikh Mustapha al-Hujeiri.

The same sources added that such threats prompted Sheikh al-Hujeiri to criticize the armed men on his Facebook page.

Sources told An-Nahar newspaper on Saturday that the Lebanese-French talks held in Paris featured high over the arming of the Lebanese Armed Forces.

The same sources added that the presidential elections were not tackled during the meeting, noting however that French President Francois Hollande called for the swift election of a new president.

According to the daily, Hollande reiterated to Prime Minister Tammam Salam France’s support to his government.

Security sources told al-Diyar newspaper on Saturday that the Lebanese security apparatuses arrested Leila Abdel Latif Mounchar, the wife of the jihadist commander Abou Ali Shishani’s brother in the region of Bekaa.

The same sources added that investigations are being carried out with her to reveal her real identity.

National Liberal Party head Dory Chamoun told al-Joumhouria newspaper on Saturday that Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun did not submit any serious suggestion to break to deadlock in the presidential election dossier.
