Hujeiri told

Environment Minister al-Mashnouq says extending work at al-Naameh landfill mandatory
Environment Minister Mohammad al-Mashnouq stressed that work at al-Naameh landfill will be extended.
In a statement to
An-Nahar
daily, al-Mashnouq explained that the Environment Ministry uses the landfill as a public facility that provides a service, adding that extending its term is mandatory.
“Tendering for new contracts will take a long time before reaching a final result, this is why the ministry has to continue its work in al-Naameh,” he stated.
Accordingly, the minister stressed the need to finalize this issue during today’s (Tuesday) cabinet session, noting that otherwise, a waste crisis will become inevitable.
