Iran shuts French Embassy-affiliated center, calling it ‘illegal’

Iranian authorities have shut down a French language teaching center affiliated with the French Embassy in Tehran under a judicial order, the semi-official Tasnim news agency reported Sunday, citing the Tehran prosecutor’s office.

Authorities said the center had operated for years without a license despite repeated warnings. They accused it of activities against Iranian culture and national security, as well as facilitating the departure of skilled and qualified Iranians from the country.
