Media officer at the Lebanese Forces, Melhem Riachi stated on Tuesday that the context of the dialogue between LF Chief Samir Geagea and Change and Reform Bloc leader MP Michel Aoun is more important than the presidency, stressing that it is based on constant foundations.

“We aim at opening a new chapter in a bid to maintain our alliance,” he told the Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper.

He also noted that dialogue preparations are on the right track, emphasizing that these arrangements will be crowned with a meeting between the two officials.

Interior Minister Nouhad Mashnouq stated on Tuesday that the security plan for the northern Bekaa is ready, pointing out that its implementation will commence within the upcoming days.

Minister Mashnouq told Al-Hayat newspaper that another plan will be forged for Beirut and its southern suburbs, stressing that after the implantation of the said plan he will have more time to address the security situation at the Ain El-Helwe refugee camp.

In this regard, he stated that he had previously held various meetings with officials of Palestinian factions, stating that he practiced utmost honesty in this regard, and had asked for their cooperation in a bid to arrest a number of fugitives including high profile fugitive Chady Al-Mawlawi.
