Prime Minister Najib Mikati said that
solving the situation in Sidon is a priority adding that it is the cabinet's responsibility
to deal with security and maintain it.
Mikati said to
As-Safir newspaper "there
is a firm decision to adjust the situation and prevent armed manifestations in
Sidon, this decision will soon be implemented,"
he added.
"The
security situation is a priority and our main concern is imposing security and stability
on all Lebanese territories," Mikati concluded.
Speaker Nabih Berri said to
Al-Joumhouria
Daily that 20 days have elapsed since March14 forces boycotted the national
dialogue sessions as well as the parliamentary sessions.
Berri said that he did not find any
explanation for March14's boycott seemingly since he expected that they participate
in the parliamentary session given that they would have been able to discuss
the cabinet issue.
"Internal unity and coalition among
citizens are Lebanon's only protection from various problems taking
place," he added.
- Houri:
Nasrallah's speech did not include anything new
Deputy Ammar Houri said to Al-Liwaa newspaper
that Hezbollah's Leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's speech was "void and did
not include anything new".
"LF Chief Samir Geagea is trying to cause
a strife as he recalls the past and "Nasrallah's cabinet" will not
resign are the messages that Nasrallah wanted to deliver by via his
speech," Houri added.
Sources said on Tuesday to
Al-Akhbar Daily that
the cabinet will continue its productive work and will be discussing more than
100 items tomorrow in its session.
In this
framework, and on the backdrop of a meeting between PM Najib Mikati and the Chairman of the Finance and Budget Committee MP Ibrahim Kanaan, an item with a budget that reaches US $22
Million was added to the agenda of Wednesday's session.
The item is related to linking Mar Chaaya-Atchaneh-Ain
Alaq to the Metn Highway and Bekfaya.
It was agreed that the amount shall be part of the accreditation
approved by the
Council of Ministers for the areas of Mount Lebanon, after it was earlier ratified on the 3rd of October 2012 without discussing
funding sources.
Sources
said to Al-Akhbar newspaper that Sheikh Ahmad Assir will be declaring in the
few coming days the formation of an armed organization to resists the "Iranian
project and its allies in Lebanon".
Sources added that Sheikh Assir got the
approval for forming the organization from the Shura Council.
It is worth mentioning that Khaled Qablawi is
currently leading members who started training in the North a few months ago.
