Sources close to the opposition told
An-Nahar newspaper that March 14 forces will question the current government on the latest security issues, especially on the kidnappings and the implication of the security forces in such actions.
March 14 expressed its dissatisfaction with the Lebanese Army’s activities especially in Wadi Khalid area where medics and media are prevented to get in contact with Syrian refugees.
The sources added that these breaches will be the core of the questioning session appointed by Speaker Nabih Berri next Wednesday, pointing out that March 14 forces are planning to host a delegation from the Syrian Transitional Council in Beirut.
Al-Joumhouria newspaper reported that a delegation from march 14 coalition will visit Wadi Khaled soon “to break the siege” imposed on the area and provide humanitarian support to the Syrian refugees.
In this regard, the newspaper added that March 14 forces are closely studying the possibility to recognize the Syrian National Council as the only representative of the Syrian people in order to add to pressure imposed by other Arab states on the Assad regime.
According to
Al-Joumhouria former PM Saad Hariri mentioned on twitter that PM Najib Mikati should fund the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, ruling out the possibility of a civil war in Lebanon. Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri said Wednesday that Premier Najib Mikati will not resign.
Asked about his relation with Mikati and if he is willing to forgive him he said “the question is, will the people forgive Mikati?” “I will not wait till 2013 parliamentarian elections to come back to Lebanon and I will do my best to ensure the failure of the current government”,
Al-Joumhouria quoted Hariri as saying.
Addressing regional developments and the crisis in Syria, Hariri predicted that the fall of the Syrian regime “will solve some of the problems in Lebanon,” but pointed out that “rebuilding Lebanon is a Lebanese job.
He hoped that the Syrians will receive all the help they need from the “Arab League and the international community since these massacres are unacceptable anymore.”
According to
Al-Mustaqbal newspaper the Future Bloc member MP Hadi Hobeish revealed that the technical committee appointed by the Minister of Telecommunication Nicolas Sehnaoui to investigate about the “Third telecommunication network”, issued a report full of lies based on the testimony of Sehnaoui.
The newspaper added that the report was also based on the previous minister Sharbel Nahas statements that the third network was operated by “Ogero” technicians, and that it was never used by Ogero or by any other sides.
Hobeish criticized the current government actions, calling on the authorities to resume their humanitarian support for the Syrian refugees in the north as these actions breach all legal and humanitarian treaties.
According to
Al-Joumhouria newspaper the head of the Lebanese Forces Party Samir Geagea said that the current crisis in Syria is very complicated and cannot be solved either this Tuesday or next week, mentioning that the LF cannot allow itself to intervene in the Syrian people's issues.
Geagea added that all Arab and foreign initiatives will eventually fail to solve the problem and he expects the fall of the Syrian regime soon. “Our country is humiliated on all levels and the Syrian breaches in the north are really dangerous despite their size”, Geagea was quoted as saying.
“I call on the current government to resign before it imposes disastrous consequences on Lebanon as PM Najib Mikati has lost his place in the political game”. Asked about the electoral law he said “We prefer a proportional representation and to set a law according to international standards”.
