The World Bank announced on Wednesday an additional assistance worth of $1.5 billion to Ukraine, bringing the total support package for Kiev to more than $4 billion.
The Russian-Ukrainian war in late February triggered a humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, destroying the country's economy and infrastructure and depleting the government's ability to pay its bills.
According to a World Bank statement, this funding will be used to pay the salaries of government employees and social workers, with approximately two billion dollars already disbursed with the new aid.
