Acclaimed Lebanese trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf is nominated for the Grammy Awards
The award-winning Lebanese-French trumpeter, Ibrahim Maalouf, is nominated for the 65th Grammy Awards, which will be taking place in Los Angeles on February 5, 2023.

Maalouf's nominated for the "Best Global Music Album" category with his album, Queen of Sheba, featuring Beninese singer-songwriter, actress, and activist, Angélique Kidjo.

The album highlights serious subjects while telling the ancient story of the mysterious African monarch's visit to King Solomon.

After research, Angélique chose seven riddles to tell the love story between Makeda, the Queen of Sheba, and King Solomon.
Ibrahim then transformed the poems into music, creating a piece in seven beats, mixing African sounds with oriental melodies.

Through his several albums, Maalouf became the winner of the world's most significant classical trumpet competitions and one of the most famous jazz artists, influencing the French and the world's music scene with his innovative music.

He also became one of the first jazz musicians to sell out France's largest concert hall, the Accor Arena in Paris Bercy.
