Majida El Roumi becomes 2023 ambassador for young Arab artists
The United Arab Media Council (UAMC) has chosen the Lebanese soprano and singer Majida El Roumi as an Ambassador for young Arab artists for the year 2023.

This choice came from a long artistic career, as Al-Roumi is considered an “artistic school” known for its operatic voice, nostalgic songs, and many humanitarian activities and initiatives.

Majida was first spotted in Studio El Fan in 1974, presented by Télé Liban, where she sang the song “Ya Toyour” by the late artist Asmahan, highlighting the beauty of her voice and her amazing vocals.

Haitham Ali Yousef, UAMC Secretary General, welcomed this selection, praising the long artistic career of the Lebanese singer, who formed an art school for Arabic music, classical music, and opera.

It is noteworthy that the United Arab Media Council, which was established in 2012 in the Kingdom of Bahrain, chooses in January of each year an ambassador for Arab artists, as this title was granted to the region’s leading artists, including Fairouz, Saber Rebai, Ahlam Al Shamsi, Kadim Al Sahir, Julia Boutros, Assi El Hallani, and more.
