Israel is to build new settlements

Israel’s Housing Ministry Spokesperson announced on Tuesday that Israel is to invite tenders for the construction of more than 800 new settlement units in occupied East Jerusalem.

Ariel Rosenberg told AFP that the ministry had published formal notice of its intention to invite tenders to build 749 settlement units in the southern Har Homa neighborhood, and another 65 in Pisgat Zeev in the north.

In turn, Palestinian Negotiator Saeb Erekat decried on Tuesday the Israeli cabinet’s decision.
