Three decapitated bodies found in western Algeria

An Algerian newspaper reported on Friday that the decapitated bodies of three civilians were found near the western Algerian city of Tlemcen.

The newspaper added that the three victims, including a father and his son took off on a hunting expedition on Wednesday never to return again.

A fourth person who was with them was able to escape. The western region of Algeria, which overlooks Morocco was used by Islamists insurgents during the Algerian civil war in the 1990's.

Radical Islamist groups occasionally take refuge in the western region.
