Syrian refugee kills autistic son with gasoline injection

A security source reported on Friday that a Syrian refugee in Jordan killed her autistic son by injecting him with a gasoline shot after a failed hanging attempt in a bid to relieve him of his difficult living conditions, the source cited her as saying.

The source added that the seven-year-old child was admitted to hospital a week earlier after having suffered of severe wounds caused by the attempt to hang him, pointing out that the mother injected the gasoline shot in the child’s serum whilst visiting him at a hospital in northern Jordan where he was recovering at the intensive care unit.

“The breathing device launched a warning once the child’s heart stopped beating, but the doctors failed to save him,” the source explained, noting that the mother’s crime was uncovered upon the detection of the gasoline scent in the room.
