Vandals spray graffiti against Kerry in West Bank

Israeli police say suspected Jewish vandals have set fire to three vehicles in a West Bank village and sprayed threatening graffiti referencing U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry ahead of his expected visit to the region.

Spokesman Micky Rosenfeld says vandals early on Tuesday sprayed Hebrew graffiti saying, "Blood will spill in Judea and Samaria," the Israeli term for the West Bank, and also, "Regards to Kerry."

Rosenfeld says the vandals then fled the Palestinian village of Jilazoun. He says police are investigating.

The vandalism came as Israel released more than two dozen Palestinian prisoners convicted in deadly attacks against Israelis as part of a US-sponsored deal to restart Mideast peace talks.

Kerry is visiting the region later this week to propose a framework for a final status Israel-Palestinian agreement.
