S.Korea sees short-term uncertainty widening from N.Korea risk
South Korean Finance Minister Bahk Jae-wan said short-term uncertainty will increase with the news on Monday of the death of North Korean leader Kim Jong-il, after an emergency cabinet meeting with President Lee Myung-bak and other high-ranking officials.

"It is difficult to say exactly what will happen and the effects, but as we have prepared fully for what may happen in North Korea, we will be able handle all situations without a big shock if we react calmly," Bahk was cited as saying in a statement released by the Ministry of Strategy and Finance.

The finance ministry has set up an emergency task force to monitor the situation, headed by vice-minister Shin Je-yoon.
